Kurileufu Refuge - Huellehue Bridge
We will cycle along the following sections. Section 1 (5 km): Refuge ‐ El Bolsón, asphalt section, no complicated elevation gain. Section 2 (17 km): Refuge ‐ Huellelhue Bridge, gravel road in good condition, with an altimetry of 330 meters, a moderately tough climb.
Huellehue Bridge - Coihuería
Section 3 (3 km): Huellelhue Bridge ‐ Coihueria sector, high difficulty climb, sections where the elevation gain reaches 15%, ascending from 240 meters above sea level to approximately 850, the gravel is loose and you need your tires to be in good condition for good grip. At the end of this section, we will set up camp and spend the first night.
Coihueria - Viewpoint Sector
Section 4 (20 km): Coihueria ‐ Viewpoint Sector, rough gravel section, in some parts in poor condition, without much altimetry, there is a water source where you can resupply, it is the last one of the entire route. Here you are at the highest part of the Coastal Range and you can enjoy the beauty of the Alerce forests, as the path crosses through these forests. At the end of this section, you will find the Viewpoint sector, from there you can see the Pacific Ocean.
Viewpoint - El León Trail Entrance
Section 5 (5 km): Viewpoint, El León Trail entrance, is a mountain section, a winding downhill road with rock garden sections. In this section, if you feel unsafe descending, it is better to get off your bicycle.
El León Trail
Section 6 (5 km): El León Trail, trail in poor condition, impossible to cycle, only possible for a short section. In parts of the trail there are ditches and you will have to carry your bicycle. Here we will pass through the heart of the Evergreen forest. At the end of this section, we will reach the Cholhuaco River, where a boat will be waiting to transport us to Caleta Cóndor Beach.
Cholhuaco River
Section 7 (6 km): River section where you must take a boat to navigate. Bicycles are loaded onto the vessel and we will be transported to Caleta Cóndor. Here the boatman must perform several maneuvers to transport the bicycles because the river is very shallow, you will surely have to help with these tasks, you must pay close attention to his instructions. Upon arriving at Caleta Cóndor, we will settle into the cabins rented by the Organization.

Get directionsDesde la Ciudad de Osorno puedes llegar por dos vías: 1.- Tomar Carretera 5 sur y avanzar hacia el sur por 29 km, luego girar a la derecha y avanzar por 5 km hasta llegar al poblado al Pueblo de Riachuelo, luego Tomar Camino a Riachuelo y Avanzar por 15 km. hasta llegar al Refugio Kurileufu. 2.- Tomar desde Osorno Ruta U-72 y avanzar por 34 km hasta llegar al Refugio Kurileufu. Ambas rutas están asfaltadas.
