Come discover Chilean Patagonia like a gaucho, on horseback! Your guide will explain how to communicate well with your horse, share local culture, and you'll discover sensational landscapes, far from the most crowded trails. You will spend approximately 2h30min on horseback. Program: - Meeting at our stables, 25 min. from Puerto Natales. We will get to know the horses, sign the risk acceptance form, get ready and mount up. - Handling and safety instructions, start of the horseback ride. - We will explore Estancia Lucía, dedicated to cattle farming. We will ride through forests, cross rivers, climb and descend hills, reaching a beautiful viewpoint - Return to the stables, end of the excursion. Languages: Spanish, French, English

  1. Welcome

    Welcome, meeting the horses and equipment, signing the liability acceptance form

    Handling and safety instructions, practice in the corral,

  3. Horseback Ride

    We will enter and explore Estancia Lucía, dedicated to cattle farming. We will ride through forests, cross rivers, climb and descend hills, reaching a beautiful viewpoint with a view of the Paine massif if the day is clear. You will immerse yourself in rural Chilean Patagonia, learning about the local way of life and horse handling

  4. Arrival at the stables

    Arrival at the stables, we will unsaddle and release the horses; you can take some photos with them. End of the excursion.

How to get there

Saliendo de Puerto Natales, aproximadamente 30 minutos, kilometro 36, ruta 9, primeras casas a la derecha después del letrero gigante "Comuna Torres del Paine“. Google maps : https://maps.app.goo.gl/CQEntD4MitvLKtWd9 Verán un letrero de madera “Galope Austral” y una puerta de alambre, abrir y cerrar para entrar a nuestro predio. Trataremos de estar atentos para ayudarles. Si vienen en taxi, avísenle de volver a buscarlos ya que el sector se encuentra sin señal telefónica. Tengan cuidado con Uber, algunos les podrían dejar en un lugar equivocado.

Who can participate?

Children over 12 years old, adults in good physical condition. Ability to mount and dismount the horse independently is required. Maximum weight of 95kg for a half-day ride, and 90kg for a full-day ride, for the well-being of our horses.

What information do you need to prepare for the horseback ride?

We need the following information for each passenger: Name: Age: Nationality: Height (cm): Weight (kg): Horseback riding experience level: no experience, intermediate experience, advanced Any medical and/or physical restrictions, special diet (for full-day rides).

Is this excursion suitable for beginners?

Our horses are gentle and well-trained, suitable for beginners. We will teach you how to communicate with our beloved horses and how to handle them before we set off. Difficulty: medium. No prior experience is required, please follow the safety instructions. Estimated total duration of the activity: 3h00, we will cover approximately 12km.

What is not included in the excursion?

Transportation, travel insurance, staff tips, Wi-Fi.

Who guides the horseback ride?

Horseback ride guided by a professional specialized in horses, with WFR (first aid) certification, speaking Spanish, English, and French if required. Maximum 4 passengers per guide.

What is the maximum number of passengers that can participate?

We only operate with small groups, generally up to a maximum of 6 people, with some exceptions. This allows us to offer personalized attention.

What do we need to bring?

Wear warm, sturdy, and waterproof clothing, avoid down jackets (consult the guide before the meeting). Bring sunscreen, water, medications if necessary. You can bring carrots or apples as a treat for the horses if you like.
